Inherited property in Missouri

A relative who lives in California has inherited property (acreage not a home) in a rural Missouri county from another relative who lived in a different state. There is a will. Apparently the heir needs to file the will in Missouri and go through probate in order to become the new owner and sell the property. How does this person find a reliable attorney knowing absolutely nothing more than that?

What did he really say?

Many commentators on the 1974 documentary film Hearts and Minds claim that the title comes from a supposed quote from Lyndon Johnson: "The ultimate victory will depend on the hearts and minds of the people who actually live out there." But there is another quote, more believable, also attributed to LBJ: "Grab 'em by the balls and their hearts and minds will follow." Does anyone know whether the first quote is real or fabricated? It sounds like it was made up to put a more diplomatic veneer on what he said.

I am an American who happened to be abroad when COVID hit. I was unable to get a flight home before things locked down and I ended up being stuck abroad for several months. How would a fraudulent election in the US today really be handled?

If there was reasonable suspicion of voter fraud on the scale the Trumpies are claiming, practically speaking how different would the response from state and federal governments look from what we're seeing instead? [more inside]

Where can you launch model rockets in Seattle?

I bought my son an Estes model rocket and some B engines. It didn't occur to me that maybe there might be laws about launching them until my son asked if we'd get in trouble for setting them off in a local park. Now I'm looking online and I'm very confused about what the rules are. Does anybody know where it's legal to launch this kind of rocket?

Can I make money while keeping my disability benefits?

I live on social security disability and I can't make more than a hundred or so dollars a month in my state or else I'll lose my benefits. I am genuinely disabled but I'm still capable of learning how to do things to make money like forex trading or starting an online business and could definitely use more than I get each month from social security (social security disability barely covers my living expenses and I live very humbly). So my question is: is there a way for me to make more than a few hundred dollars a month while keeping my disability benefits?

Problem renewing drivers license, green card edition

A person has a green card that will expire more than 5 years from now, and that "end of stay" date is listed on the card. When they renew their drivers license the RMV/DMV folks say that "System X" (whatever system the feds make available for them to verify immigration status) doesn't list an end of stay date for this person's green card. Therefore they will only renew the drivers license for 1 year. Folks at USCIS swear up and down that their system has the correct date for this green card. [more inside]

How panicked should I be about this unemployment claimant questionaire?

When logged into my state's unemployment benefit page, I saw that my benefits were temporarily suspended until I filled out a "Still Employed--Claimant Questionnaire" form.
